Reettraum Monastery

Hiddensee

Nestled in an exceptionally tranquil area at the northern edge of the village of Kloster, this thatched-roof house is situated on a sandy path. It boasts a rooftop terrace with uninterrupted views to the north, overlooking the highlands of Dornbusch. The nearby horse meadows enhance the natural ambiance. The west beach is approximately 800 meters away. Thanks to its elevated position, two garden terraces also provide expansive views to the west. Extensively renovated by the end of 2024, the house offers around 250 square meters of usable space and now features new-build quality. Completion was achieved in spring 2025. An annex connected to the terrace houses the wellness area, complete with a sauna, steam bath, and rain shower. The property is fully basemented and equipped with a modern air heat pump for heating and air conditioning. Currently, the house is available for sale. Feel free to reach out to us anytime!

To the north, the Dornbusch rises with the iconic Hiddensee lighthouse. Despite the extremely peaceful location, the town center, featuring the church and shopping amenities, is just 400 meters away. Island-typical comfort in Detail

The Reettraum house is furnished with high-quality, contemporary features. The thatched roof, Scandinavian wooden windows, and real wood parquet flooring define the living experience. The interior design incorporates natural materials to create a cozy atmosphere. Special emphasis was placed on the seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. With the spacious southwest terrace and the north rooftop terrace, there is an ideal sun spot for every time of day. The premium wellness area is housed in a modern annex, offering a relaxing retreat in any weather.

Island Behind the Island

Since the 1920s, Hiddensee has been known as the “island behind the island,” a coveted destination for many city dwellers. During the GDR era, it was the favored haven for free spirits and escapees. This long, seahorse-shaped island, partly only 200 meters wide, comprises four localities: the artist village Kloster beneath the lighthouse in the north, the island capital Vitte, the village Grieben, and the white fishing village Neuendorf in the south. Hiddensee presents its guests with particularly diverse natural landscapes, such as the highlands of Dornbusch in the north or the unique dune heath in the island’s center.
