Company
Baltic Seaside Properties buys, develops, and operates vacation properties in the well-known Baltic Sea resorts of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The regional focuses are Darss/Zingst, Rügen (Binz, Sellin), and Usedom (Kaiserbäder). We value high-quality and locally typical design. Often, we renovate monuments or typical seaside architecture objects. Under the brand Baltic Hideaways, we operate our own facilities and hotels. This makes us deeply rooted in our core regions. Since our founding in 2018, 25 colleagues work on a development portfolio of around 200 million EUR.
Background
Our professional background is in digital marketing. In this field, we have founded, built, and subsequently sold several service companies with around 400 employees in various roles. We were particularly involved in search engine marketing, display advertising, and social advertising. As a service provider, we were responsible for the digital distribution of leading German travel companies for many years. Therefore, we primarily understand the operation of vacation properties as a digital business model.
Design approach
Our properties are located in central locations of the well-known seaside resorts of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In many cases, they are listed villas in historic seaside architecture that have a significant architectural influence on the communities. We always strive to emphasize the local and historical elements. The architecture ranges from colorfully designed thatched-roof houses in Darß/Zingst to stately villas in the Kaiserbäder of Usedom. We consistently aim to combine the local and historical elements with modern interior design and high living comfort. In terms of quality, we orient ourselves towards comparable properties in Berlin Mitte or Hamburg’s Alster locations. We work on our properties with our own team of architects as well as established regional architectural firms.
Brand
Currently, we have around 20 vacation rental properties and two hotels with approximately 500 units under development. As the properties are completed, our inventory in vacation rentals continues to grow steadily. In the future, we will consolidate all properties under the brand “Baltic Hideaways” on one platform. The brand is intended to represent high individuality combined with a consistent promise of quality. For quality reasons, we operate all properties with our own management team.
Management
After studying Economics/Business Administration in Münster, at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management, and at Dartmouth College, he initially worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Subsequently, he founded a company in the e-commerce sector as well as several companies in the digital marketing field. He sold the companies to various entities, including CTS Eventim, Axel Springer, Stroer, Equistone, and Pro7Sat1.

Georg Monheim has extensive experience in project management in the construction industry. He studied Civil Engineering at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and began his professional career at Hochtief. Here, he was responsible for the construction of office buildings, industrial facilities, and residential buildings. At ECE in Hamburg, he was in charge of planning and implementing shopping centers in southern Germany. Most recently, from 2016 onwards, he led the real estate department of a Hamburg-based family office, where he was responsible for projects such as the construction of the Family Ministry in Berlin. Today, he is primarily responsible for the approval planning and construction execution of our vacation and hotel properties.
